ADI (Assistance Dogs International) has a publicized test PACT (Public Access Certification Test) that was developed over 15 years ago. It was an accountability measure which included input from ADI and IAADP (International Association of Assistance Dog Partners).

This test evaluates the dog's obedience and manners, and the handler's skills in a variety of situations.  Dog Safety, handler and public safety are main considerations.

Public Access Practice : "TUCK"

When out in Public, it is often necessary to TUCK your dog out of the way, especially when you are stationary.

Some dogs naturally TUCK, as they like to "Cave" somewhere safe to avoid getting stepped on or disturbed.

You can practice this at home under your dinner table or desk.
