DOGS on DUTY Out & About:
Some of our Service Dogs include SDiT MAX, SD MONGO SIDEKICK (MST/Mobility), SD FOLLY (Alert/Assist), SD SCOUT (Medical Alert/Mobility), SD ARTEMIS (PTS/ASSIST), SDIT MINO (ALERT/MOBILITY) & SD RYKER (PTS/TBI).
Before you begin training or get to work, ALWAYS give your dog a RELIEF BREAK. Find a command that works for YOU. Using a specific phrase like, "TAKE A BREAK", each time you take them out will cue them IT IS TIME TO "GO"!
Meeting your dogs BASIC NEEDS (Air, Water, Food, etc.) is a must if you want to get your dog's focus. Pack your dog water + bowl when you are out. Bring Treats to keep their attention if you are training (or a ball or toy).
Gotta' Get Your Basics Down First!
Basic Obedience Commands: SIT, DOWN, STAY, COME, WAIT, STAND are your foundation.
You have to do BASIC TRAINING before you begin working on a SERVICE DOG (or Therapy Dog) TRAINING AGENDA. AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) is our entry level start.
Meet Pack Members: SDIT ANCHOR, SDIT DUDE, SDIT GEORGIA, SD TROOPER and SDIT GEORGIE.
TRAINING with the DOGS on DUTY Pack

Our methods may be casual and a bit unorthodox; we don't do a lot of walking in circles. Our MOTTO is "THE WORLD IS OUR OBSTACLE COURSE" and when we say we train all over, we are serious!

Using arcades is great fun; it can be a bit of a work out and a challenge with Extreme Distractions like Loud Noises, Running Kids and Random Shouts.
Using Local Parks for Outdoors Training Improvisations gives Teams the chance to try different things.

Working downtown, practicing drills, adapting leash control techniques, switching sides and changing teammates helps keep things interesting.
